Safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety and welfare of all our children.

Safeguarding is everybody's responsibility; all staff, governors, volunteers and other adults working in, or on behalf of our school.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mrs Spratt, and our Deputy DSLs are Mrs Grabski, Mr Brooks-Smith, Mrs Oduntan, Mrs Anderson and Mrs Millard-Smith.  The governor with responsibility for safeguarding in our school is Mr Lucas.

All school staff undertake annual Safeguarding and Child Protection training, and receive regular updates throughout each term.  Our procedures are continually reviewed and evaluated, to ensure that they remain robust in keeping our children safe.  Staff are trained to look out for signs of physical/emotional harm or neglect and are required to report these to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

Our children are made aware of the adults they can talk to if they have any concerns.  We know how important it is to listen to our pupils and take what they tell us, seriously.

If you are worried about a child, please contact us through the school office on: 01634 334344 or email: office@burntoak.medway.sch.uk

If you are worried about a child and you are unable to contact the school office (for example during the school holidays) please refer to the link below to find details of what you can do and how to make a referral:
